Click here for the East Midlands Election Officers blog. Now unlike the Lib Dums he has managed to get 8 signatures from people of the ward. Lib Dums who have the other councillor for this two seat ward failed to check that one of the people who proposed their candidate was not from the ward this made the Lib Dum candidate ineligible to stand. So now only the BNP , LAB AND CONS will contest this seat on the 18th Feb.
This seat should of been a Lib Dem gain. With the tory resigning and the election costings the tax payer approx 8k they have missed a huge chance. We normally beat labour in Birstall but will the lib dems go to labour? time will tell
