BNP COUNCILLOR FIGHTS FOR THE COMMUNITY

A LLANDYBIE councillor is pressing Carmarthenshire Council to heed parents’ concerns over the entrance to the village primary school.

In an e-mail to the authority’s director of education Vernon Morgan, BNP councillor Meirion Bowen said the entrance to Llandybie Primary School had previously been described as the most dangerous in Carmarthenshire.

Cllr Bowen claims the authority has reneged on a pledge to use land near the school for car parking.

He also maintains the authority took part in a clandestine meeting involving a local developer.

Cllr Bowen says he is now seeking various answers under the Freedom of Information Act.

He is demanding to know why no enforcement action has been taken to provide car parking and make local footpaths accessible.

A county council spokesman said: “We will register Cllr Meirion Bowen’s concerns as an enforcement complaint and it will be investigated.”
