CLICK HERE for the Daily Mail story from the 6th June 2009. Sharon Wilkinson became the first BNP county councillor adding to the 4 district councillors in Burnley.
Now Burnley is the current seat of Kitty Ussher who has been forced to stand down due to the expenses scandal, and the current list of PPC's are.

With voters having a choice of expense scandal Labour, europhile Lib Dums, and Mr Ali of the Cons. The BNP could well be expected to be in the mix for this seat.
