If he had attended he would have been damned by the protesters outside, he leaves and is damned for not attending.
Simons thoughts,
I had been told that there would be a police and security operation and that I was to turn up at 6 pm and go through the stage door.
At 17:45 I parked on the car park opposite and observed several Muslim demonstrators and no police at all. Obviously someone had tipped them off and had also told me lies.
Stoke BNP councillor Mike Coleman turned up just after 6 and both of us came to the conclusion it was a set up designed to cause confrontation and give me and the BNP a bad local press. Since College Green I simply don't trust the police at all and with this in mind we decided to abort.
Now this is last weeks news and so why bring it up now?
Because anti BNP sites wish to churn this up again and again on the premise that BNP candidates complain about no platform but reportedly ran away from a debate.
Of course they have tried to portray this as a cosy little meeting and the BNP participants ran and tried to make capital. But as you will see HERE in the Socialist Worker (not my normal morning read).
British National Party (BNP) deputy leader Simon Darby tried to attend a youth electoral hustings organised by the YMCA in Stoke-on-Trent last Thursday.
The Unite Against Fascism group at Staffordshire university picketed the event and stopped the Nazi leader from getting in.
Darby arrived to a vibrant multicultural demonstration and then fled.
Later, he moaned on his website, “They can go ahead and have their fake debate and I’ll go and buy the Daily Mail.”
Charlotte, a broadcast journalism student, said, “It felt amazing to be on the protest.
“We stopped him from getting in and corrupting young minds with his racism.”
Who is corrupting whose mind?
Charlotte seems to be happy that she has stopped the democratic process. I wonder if she would hound Abu Hamza as he was preaching his disciples to kill non believers. That is poison which needs to be stopped. A hustings debate should be a place for all those standing for election should be heard and judged.
These anti BNP protesters don't want democracy or freedoms for the people to choose.
So lets see the whole story and not just the re churned bits that certain sites wish to display for a propaganda gain. If you repeat something enough times it does not make it true.
VOTE BNP, DEFEND YOUR FREEDOMS.
