How many elected South Tyneside councillors helped in the anti-BNP campaign?
Cllr Ahmed Khan (Beacon & Bents ward) remarks on twitter "#@davidpotts101 Cllr Potts is there any chance of you delivering a few anti BNP leaflets in Primrose over the next 24 hrs? 1:31 AM Feb 23rd via web" and the Independent Alliance Group "#We have done everything we can to keep the BNP out of Primrose, let’s hope the voters have played their part. about 14 hours ago via web".

The Independent Alliance Group also stated yesterday "#Early indications (based on returned postal votes) are that the turnout is low. This is traditionally when the BNP do well. about 14 hours ago via web". So presumably if this account is true then many of the 1193 postal votes (58.7% of the votes cast) must have conveniently turned up at the last minute. Clive Jefferson stated on his blog at the weekend "Labour seem dead in the water in this election and are nowhere in sight." Presumably Labour didn't need to bother as they were confident with the postal vote harvesting hundreds of guaranteed votes.

smells a bit fishy to me. Labour rigged this for sure, so much for democracy. BNP are coming.
