In person 4234 - 840 - 19.8%
Postal 2073 - 1193 - 57.5%
Overall 6307 - 2033 - 32.2%
So two thirds of the electorate can not go in person to a polling station and vote?
I have said in other posts that when the BNP are contesting an election the postal vote applications soar, the average for other elections is around 10 to 20 per cent of votes cast. For this election 57.5% of the votes cast were done so by the postal voting.
It needs to be scrapped. Why do we have this legalised form of fraud?
This is the week when people were talking about the forces of hell being unleashed, this is just another demon the BNP have to deal with.
Those courageous voters who did come out for the BNP have to be applauded.
In reply to the third comment. This is a question I have asked myself. What is the vote split of people voting by post? The returning officers state that once the postal ballot papers are verified they are then mixed in with the votes cast at the polling stations. So all they can give is the figures of how many people have voted by post, but not the percentage share for each party. Pretty convenient when you have what has happened here.

Very well done to BNP, even though Labour held the seat they lost 151 voters to BNP's 115, not forgetting the extra candidates & falling turnout.Taking this into account the anti-bnp campaign had no effect =)
ReplyDeleteGood result nice to see Libdems and Conservatives trailing behind - Postal vote applications, stink.
ReplyDeleteWell done to the Geordies of Primrose.
Do you know the breakdown of votes excluding postal votes, this is important?
ReplyDeleteThis result is highly suspicious to say the least.
How many elected South Tyneside councillors helped in the anti-BNP campaign?
ReplyDeleteCllr Ahmed Khan (Beacon & Bents ward) remarks on twitter "#@davidpotts101 Cllr Potts is there any chance of you delivering a few anti BNP leaflets in Primrose over the next 24 hrs? 1:31 AM Feb 23rd via web" and the Independent Alliance Group "#We have done everything we can to keep the BNP out of Primrose, let’s hope the voters have played their part. about 14 hours ago via web".

The Independent Alliance Group also stated yesterday "#Early indications (based on returned postal votes) are that the turnout is low. This is traditionally when the BNP do well. about 14 hours ago via web". So presumably if this account is true then many of the 1193 postal votes (58.7% of the votes cast) must have conveniently turned up at the last minute. Clive Jefferson stated on his blog at the weekend "Labour seem dead in the water in this election and are nowhere in sight." Presumably Labour didn't need to bother as they were confident with the postal vote harvesting hundreds of guaranteed votes.
wherever the tri party hydra rears its head there's fraud
