One of the last by election's of the year is to be held on December 17th in the ward of Earlswood and Whitebushes Ward, for a seat on the Borough council of Reigate & Banstead.
The candidates are as follows,
Gill Emmerton Con
Joseph Fox UKIP
Rosie Norgrove Lab
Steve Oddy LD
Peter Phillips BNP
The previous results for this seat as a Borough council,
2008 result Con 1022 LD 478 Lab 328 UKIP 188
There was another by-election in this ward on 13th December 2007
CON 421 LD 380 LAB 152 UKIP 113 GRN 54
2007 result Con 848 LD 593 Lab 317 UKIP 169 Grn 116
Now this will be the first time that the BNP fight this seat on the Borough level but have stood candidates at council level in 2009 standing 6 candidates for Surrey CC and getting just short of 1,500 votes. with 6.8% of the vote for Banstead east equaling 340 votes and 6.4% of the vote equaling 282 votes for the Earlswood and Reigate seat.
So the BNP have a solid base coming into this election, Peter Phillips was also the candidate who stood for the Earlswood and Reigate council seat last time.
The UKIP vote has been pretty stagnant so any development on the previous share of 6.4/6.8% Will show a growth for the BNP.
Good Luck to Peter and the BNP is this election.
Good luck Peter i'll be voting for you tomorrow.
