LEICESTER WEST

The seat has had an exchange of wards with Leicester South and East so makes little difference in the scheme of things. As you will see from the candidates in the past general election results this is a very socialist area. Patricia Hewitt is doing a runner, rats and sinking ship come to mind, as she won't be standing at the next election.

The last Council Election for Leicester West seats on Leicestershire county council was in 2007
Braunstone Park and Rowley Fields 477
New Parks 788

over 1,200 votes from standing in only 2 of the 7 wards available. It will be difficult for the BNP but can expect a decent showing and to be well up on the 1997 result.
