COVENTRY NORTH EAST

CLICK HERE for an insight into how Tom Gower the PPC for the BNP took on the sitting MP Bob Ainsworth and got an astonishing admission.

Click here and you will get a wiki background to the seat, Labours sheep like voting support has dropped from a high of 66% in 1997 to 56% in 2005 and as low as 42% in 2008 local council elections.

Aggregate votes from the 2008 local elections;

Lab 10170 42.1%
C 6813 28.2%
LD 2288 9.5%
BNP 1692 7.0%
Oth 3199 13.2%

that 1,692 is double what the BNP got when they stood in the 2001 General Election. So as we are seeing all over the country, the BNP is on the rise and labour is in steep decline.

To try and help Labour the boundary commission has brought into the revised seat three wards from Coventry South and one ward from Coventry North West.

Current known list of candidates.

Tom Gower BNP
Current MP: Bob Ainsworth(Labour)
Hazel Noonan (Conservative)

  1. Dave Nellist of the Socialist Party is also standing. This could damage the Labour vote.
