I always explain my views on immigration in this way. If a friend or neighbour was in some trouble or a tragedy had happened to them meant they had no where to live. As I would and I think nearly all the people reading this post would help in someway. If needed you would put that person up until they were back on their feet.
The UK is doing much the same to most of the world at present it is acting as the good Samaritan. Difference is, if that person you let into your house started telling you then how to run your own life, or how to decorate your house. You would soon tell that person to get out.
In this country though we pander to the person we have let in to help. We change the way we live our way of life, as not to offend them and we go out down to the DIY store and come back with a colour chart asking them "What colour would you like the rooms decorating"
It has even come to the point that you now not only let the person you was helping dictate how you live your own life and how your house is decorated. But you then say "You know what? I think it is unfair me and my wife sleep in the largest room of the house, we will sleep in the back bedroom. You can have the master bedroom."
It would never happen, would it? If the person you helped did not like your hospitality they would be told to go else where. This is exactly what we should be doing to those that come to this country now. Instead of pandering to the masses we should be telling them, live by our rules or go.

I use to work for a private housing company: I quit the job after what i seen what goes on and the pressure the housing company was under by central and local Government.
ReplyDeleteThey where under pressure to house a certain % of `foreign nationals` as they call them, and after refurbishing 6 houses i just could not do anymore as i felt like a traitor to my own people.
Normally when a property becomes vacant, we go in and fix, repair any damage basically making the property ready for the next occupants.
This is the part that angered me: When we had to allocate a property to a `foreign national` we had to strip everything and i mean everything, including skirting boards, door frames all wood surfaces and replace with new everything. Strip walls of paper and do a fresh scim of plaster right around the property and paint the walls. Strip old radiators and heating out and replace including bathroom suit. Everything including the kitchen had to be replaced and made new.
