A very low key by-election that did not warrant a mention on the main party site at all, which is surprising given that the BNP scored a fairly respectable 10.29% of the vote, far in excess of recent derisory results. A few years ago the BNP would have had an excellent chance of winning this seat, however, it is no great surprise that the Greens appear to have become the protest vote of choice.
Having said this a vote of over 10%
Key, David The British National Party 43 (10.29%)
Musgrove, Ian James The Green Party 103
Newholme, Frederick Robert The Conservative 72
Peake, Sandra The Labour Party 200 (Elected)
Shocking result if ward had been worked on such a poor turnout and even in current climate where our leader is hated this election should of been won. Bolsover for years delivered high election results before a branch was formed now it should be winning seats. We should at the very very least be second losing to the tories in Bolsover and miles behing the tree huggers. Change needed NOW
