  2. Why do people think this is a protest vote, can`t they believe that Coalville people actually have an opinion .This town has been run down for far too long.
About time we got someone who cares about local issues instead of following national policies all the time.

  3. Because this is the result of protest voting. What is the BNP going to do at a local level? They are a single, if not dual, issue group - kick out forgeigners and get Britain out of Europe. The last time I looked they aren't going to do this at a local level. Whether the vote is against the current government, the fact that the right wing newspapers seem to think that there are millions upon millions of foreigners coming into Britain daily or merely because they are stupid.

I voted Lib Dems in the local elections. Not because i thought they were the best choice, but because I thought they were the only viable choice compared with a failing Labour party, a corrupt Conservative party and a racist British National Party.

Of course this result and all the other BNP elections are protest votes. I'm sure you could go onto the streets of Coalville and not one BNP voter would say 'yes, I voted for the BNP in protest at the current state of affairs,' but would they have voted for the BNP in a general election? Hardly. They would revert to type and vote for the Conservatives or Labour.

  4. At last the British people are waking up

Be like me - vote BNP!!!!!!!!!!! and be proud of it. I'm fed up of being labelled a fascist thug by the headless chickens in the other main parties. How dare they. I am a law abiding citizen, have always worked and paid tax/national insurance contributions and I have a lovely family. I have two lovely children 26 & 22 both have always worked since leaving school - we are all VERY worried about their childrens future though. Watch this space.........................Mrs H

and in answer to the previous comment YES I certainly would vote BNP in a general election.

  8. I am white, born and raised in England with a long line of English/Irish descent. I am proud of my national identity and happy to be English. The BNP election campaigners in Coalville told me that I deserved to vote because of the Somme, Verdun etc. I didn't fight in any of these - why do I deserve to be here more than immigrants?
    Bewildered 18 year old, Coalville.

  10. 18 year old , you deserve to be here because it's the country that your ancestors have built for you out of their hard work and money, not some freeloader who just flew in for a free ride without ever contributing a penny. Do you hand over your savings with a same carelessness? If so you will soon be broke just like Britain under Labour.

  11. What idiot thinks the BNP councillor is a nazi. I know him and he certainly isn't. Don't believe everything you read in the Guardian and Mirror, they've never spoken to him. Oh, and as for the Somme etc, the Brits were led to war by a Liberal government sacrificing a million lives to avoid European domination. What a waste that was.

  12. Whatever happened to being English and proud of it , BNP in whitwick and Coalville care about local people and their concerns , the other parties enjoy spending our money for their own pleasure , watch the council tax go up, and thy couldn't care less about us.
